Privacy policy
Last updated: June 2026. Ghana Polls is designed for anonymous public opinion polling and aggregate analysis.
Information we collect
We collect only the information needed to run the polling experience:
- Age group: Used for demographic breakdowns.
- Region or diaspora country: Used for location-based result analysis.
- Poll response: Your anonymous Yes, Neutral, or No vote.
- Comments: Optional public discussion posts shown as Anonymous.
- Device hash: Used to limit duplicate votes and comment likes from the same device.
How we use information
Your demographic context is used to calculate aggregate results, display regional and age-group trends, and keep the poll fair. We do not ask for names, phone numbers, or email addresses when you vote.
Data protection
Votes are stored separately from personally identifying details because those details are not collected in the voting flow. Results are shown as totals and percentages. Comments are public, so avoid posting personal information.
Security measures
We employ CSRF token protection on all forms, rate limiting on every public API, parameterised database queries to prevent injection, secure session cookies (HTTP-only, SameSite=Lax), and a strict Content Security Policy. The admin surface is password-protected with bcrypt and locks accounts after repeated failed attempts.
Cookies
We set a small set of first-party cookies: a session identifier, your theme preference, and a device hash used purely to enforce one-vote-per-device. We do not use third-party tracking cookies.
Political and legal topics
Some polls may ask about political or constitutional issues. Ghana Polls records public opinion only. Poll results are not legal advice, election results, or statements from a public authority.
